Originally from upstate New York and now a resident of Medford, MA, Kit Collins recieived a BA from Tufts University in 2015. Since then she has developed a colorful, whimsical style that manifests itself in illustrations, prints, and murals. Executed with lots of detail, her images often read as narratives. For the mural in Payne Park, Collins painted three free-standing walls, front and back, with scenes inspired by neighborhoods in Pawtucket. The familiar sites are filled with lots of activities as people celebrate events and historic places, play sports, and carry out their daily activities.
